By the end of this week, I discovered alot about The Matra Kulcha wala.
But the most fascinating thing was the
Manoj, the sole owner of this Matra Kulcha wala in Naraina Vihar told me the secret behind using this specific peetal utensil.
But the most fascinating thing was the
BIG PEETAL POT
which I actually notice at every Matra kulcha wala I have ever been.Manoj, the sole owner of this Matra Kulcha wala in Naraina Vihar told me the secret behind using this specific peetal utensil.
- The big peetal pot in which the cholas are stored is used because it is the best metal which keeps the stuff inside it hot for hours.
- When the food is in contact with peetal metal the salts left out by peetal help in good digestion.
- The food stored in peetal untensils is much more tastier and healthier.
- Also because of its shininess it attracts the general public and is a common symbol for all mutar kulcha walas to have it .
- The red cloth over the opening of the big peetal pot acts as a mosquito replent and also being a bright color is a point of attraction.
Isn't this interesting?
I realize everything has a cultural & a scientific reason to it. Like for example;
Cultural:
According to the Owner, it is a culture for all the Matra Kulcha walas to use this brass or a peetal pot to cook. The shine of this utensil too is symbol of the Matra Kulcha walas & people think the shine attracts coustomers.
Scientific:
All the things from brass pot keeping chole hot to it making the food tastier & helthier are scientific reasons.
but interestingly, The owner said something that really fascinated me being a Design student,
he said,' shayad ye peetal ka rang aur chunari ka rang matching hai aur sath sunder lagta hai, tabhi sath lagaya jata hai" there was a sense of colour combination which is another aspect to any topic.
A DESIGN ASPECT
YES, In today's world there isn't just cultural & scientific reason to something,
there is a design reason to it, something just like a
DESIGN SOLUTION.
DESIGN SOLUTION.
